Mushroom Certification Trip to Minneapolis/St. Paul Part Four: The bins

I mentioned it would take a few posts to cover everything we got, so here goes part four. The good stuff. I found a pair of Tom's for Nora, which is kind of amazing. It's seems to be a little tough to find the mates to shoes there.

Corey found a pair of The North Face sandals for me.

Pey found a pair of Lululemon lounge pants. They are missing the drawstring, but fit her good enough that it doesn't matter much.

While Nora and I were grabbing all the animal figurines, we also found this balance board. We looked it up and it's actually for adults to exercise with. My balance is terrible, by the way.

Lauren found this little octopus picture for me.

Corey grabbed me this, and it's so goofy I love it! The bird is actually quilted, and the frame is wood and awesome.

I found this ceramic bowl/planter for Lauren, we both really loved it.

I also found this camera picture for her. It seems to be a picture someone glued to a canvas.

Peyton found me two of these Mexican birds, which I've collected for a long time. The other one was more round with blue accents, but he met a terrible fate at the Aldi parking lot on the way home. I opened up the back of the Suburban to put the groceries in and the bag he was in tipped over and he fell onto the pavement and smashed. I was so sad that he survived The Bins only to be destroyed by me!

Peyton got herself this cute yellow coat. I'ts from France and it looks so cute on her and has the most adorable lining.

I got a massive dog bowl for Crow. The pictures don't really show just how bit it is.

Corey found a cast iron pan with two handles. It's a good thing there was a 30% off sale, because this thing is heavy.

I don't collect Vera Bradley items, but these were too cheap to pass up. I got a cross body purse, a wallet, and a tote. They are all in pristine condition.

Corey found a pair of goggles for Nora. They work really well with her helmet.

We also grabbed a silicone mold of bunnies, hedgehogs, and squirrels. We'll probably use it for Jello Jigglers or bath bombs.

I found a pack and play mattress pad and cute dino sheet, and an Aiden and Anias blanket. We have a pack and play we're going to put over at the rental, but I didn't have any bedding for it.

I'm going to do one final post with the rest of the stuff we found, including Jewelry!!

Mushroom Certification Trip Minneapolis/St. Paul Part Three: The Bins

I learned about Goodwill Bins about a year ago watching some YouTube thrifting videos, and I've wanted to go ever since. The closest one to us is in St. Paul. On Sunday we went to Trader Joe's when we left the hotel, but not much else was open. We decided to take the 20 minute drive and check out "The Bins." Basically it's a Godwill Outlet store. Anything that doesn't sell at the regular stores goes to The Bins, where they literally throw everything in bins and then sell by the pound. It was $1.69 a pound, but since it was Sunday it was 30% off anything that wasn't clothes.
When we first walked in, Nora was with me and the first bin we looked in had a literal mountain of toys, some of which were dinosaur figurines.

She is still planning to be a paleontologist, so she was very excited. There were a bunch of other animals too.

We started grabbing them and soon our hands were too full. There were no carts to be had so we grabbed a basket out of another bin and filled it. There were more animals Nora wanted, including some odd gummy feeling animals and some beaded critters, so we grabbed a bucket and soon filled that too.

Corey sat down with her there and went through the basket and bucket, and she put some stuff back. These are the animals she kept! She also got two nerf guns with laser sights and some suction cup ammo.

These were some battery operated dino toys.

She also found two FurReal Friends.

American Girl sunglasses

This crazy stuffed animal has sequins on it, and when you brush them one way it's purple, the other way it's gold.

She also found a sequined back pack, lunch box combo.

That's most of the stuff Nora got, she made an absolute haul.
In the first bin I also found a large backpack/travel bag for Lauren. It still had the tags on it.
Shortly before we were ready to leave Corey and Lauren found this bag. At first they thought maybe it was a camping cot because it was so big and heavy, but they opened it and it's two camping chairs. It looks like it originally came with the Mercury Mountaineer.

Lauren bought them and is going to keep them in her van.  Lauren was on a roll, and she also picked up this rabbit fur coat. She bought it with her Grandma in mind, she has a few furs. It fits Peyton, but being a vegetarian she has no intention of wearing it.
